Saudi FM terms talks with Iran as cordial, exploratory

RIYADH: Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan has said that progress has been made in the talks between Saudi Arabia and Iran.

In an interview with a British newspaper, the Saudi foreign minister said that Saudi Arabia was serious about restoring relations with Iran and was considering allowing Iran to reopen its consulate in Jeddah.

He said that progress had been made in the talks between Saudi Arabia and Iran, but not much progress had been made in the talks with regard to restore diplomatic relations.

The Saudi Foreign Minister said that four rounds of talks have been held since April, and Iran’s attitude in the talks was very friendly.
