KARACHI: The cargo ship Heng Tong 77 has been defueled, which was stranded at the Sea View of Karachi, while the tug that came to push it out from the beach also broke down and is standing at the port.
Adviser to the Ministry of Maritime Affairs Mahmood Maulvi has said that three special tugs will arrive in Karachi in the next few days to take the ship out of the sand.
He said that the owner of the ship has appointed his agent to look after the affairs of the ship. If any damage is done to the ship during extraction from the sand, the responsibility will be on the company.
It is believed that according to the Karachi Port Administration (KPT), the ship’s anchors were broken and it reached the beach at the Sea View.
