Vote of confidence: PM sends advice to president to convene NA session


ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan has sent an advice to President Dr Arif Alvi to convene a meeting of the National Assembly. The prime minister will also address to the nation today at 7:30pm on the radio and television. 

Sources said that the National Assembly session would be convened on Saturday for a vote of confidence after the President’s approval.

The National Assembly also had a brief session today. After recitation, Naat and national anthem, the Deputy Speaker adjourned the sitting indefinitely.

The prime minister has also convened an important meeting of senior party leaders today in connection with the vote of confidence. Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) senior party leaders and ministers have been summoned to the Prime Minister’s House.

It is reported that the prime minister will give a briefing on the reasons for the defeat of Abdul Hafeez Sheikh in the Prime Minister’s House this afternoon.
