FC Balochistan recovers weapons in Kohlu

QUETTA: The Frontier Corps Balochistan on Saturday recovered weapons and ammunition from Kodwan area of Kohlu district and destroyed the hideouts of a banned militant organization.

A spokesman for FC said here that following intelligence information; FC personnel launched search operation in Kodwan area of Kohlu district and recovered huge cache of weapons, ammunition and explosives from the camps of banned militant organization.

“A search operation was launched against militants belonging to banned organization, in Kodwan area of Kohlu district, during that huge cache of weapons, ammunition and explosives were confiscated while the hideouts were destroyed by the FC personnel,” the spokesman said.

He said that the recovered weapons and ammunition included 59 RPG-7 rockets, 55 MM-82 mortar rounds, 68 MM-66 mortar rounds, 52 MM-82 fuses, 133 MM-12.7 gun rounds, 05 anti-tank mines, 03 anti-personnel mines, 1 M-72 missile bomb barrel, 49 bombs, 190 RR missile fuses, 2 boxes of timer mines, 2 guns, hundreds of rounds and other materials.

The FC spokesman said that the militants wanted to use the material for sabotage acts. He added that however, the FC personnel timely foiled the terror plot by recovering huge cache of ammunition and explosives.
