MAILSI: Prime Minister Imran Khan has asked the European Union (EU) what action they took when India broke the international law in Kashmir valley on Aug 5, 2019.

The prime minister made these remarks in response to the letter written by the EU envoys in Islamabad in which they asked Pakistan to condemn Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

He was addressing a public rally in Vehari’s Mailsi tehsil here on Sunday.

Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar and other government members were also present on the occasion.

Imran Khan told the rally that he following his parent’s teachings had always believed Pakistan should not be a slave to anyone.

Earlier, the EU ambassadors had written a letter to Pakistan government, asking to release a statement against Russia.

The prime minister asked the EU envoys did they write a similar letter to India as also?

He reminded the participants of the public gathering that Pakistan had extended help to the West throughout its war on terror. If I were in power at that time I would have never involved Pakistan in the war, he said.

The prime minister said at that time the head of the country supported the United States.

Pakistan lost 80,000 citizens, over $100 billion and displaced 3.5 million people, he added.

Earlier, Prime Minister Imran Khan had said that we need to follow the path suggested by the Holy Prophet.

Addressing a function held to activate the Rehmat-ul-Alameen Authority in Islamabad, the prime minister said that the authority had been activated after three months of hard work.

“We are indifferent to religion and our children don’t know much about religion. When I was in school, no one told me what the state of Madinah was and what its purpose was,” Imran told the gathering.

Prime Minister Imran Khan said that the country becomes weak only because of corruption. We have accepted corruption and destroyed ourselves. But in the West there is no concept of depositing about Rs4 billion in an account of a peon.

He claimed that they had made corruption unacceptable in the society.

While referring to PML-N Quaid Nawaz Sharif without taking his name, he said one person has run away by lying and here journalists demand to allow him make speeches.

Yesterday, Prime Minister Imran Khan had said that relief had been given to people by reducing electricity charges and petrol prices, adding the country has now more money.

Speaking at the launching of the disbursement of interest-free loans for people of low-income groups under the Kamyab Pakistan Programme, the prime minister said that loans worth Rs2 million will be disbursed to citizens with the view to help them build their houses.

He said that during the next two years loans worth Rs407 billion would be disbursed among women, youth, farmers and for the construction of low-income houses.

During this period, the government will provide a subsidy of Rs56 billion for this purpose.

The key objective of the Kamyab Pakistan Programme is to provide relief to the low-income group and increase economic growth.
