ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan has said that it is not right that the senior will come to the top and added that appointment and promotion should be on merit.

Addressing the ground breaking ceremony of the new emergency ward of PIMS Hospital in the federal capital Islamabad, Imran Khan said that the new emergency ward of PIMS would be set up in accordance with international standards.

He said that for the first time since 1985, a new hospital was being set up in Islamabad.

He further said that it is not right that the senior will come to the top, if the senior cannot become a good chief executive then the best should be brought to the top, adding that appointment and promotion should be on merit.

The prime minister said that the more people are hired on merit the more higher the standard will be. If the supremacy of merit is ensured then government agencies can also provide quality services.

“Our government is the first to do unprecedented work on the economy, health and education,” he said.

Yesterday, Prime Minister Imran Khan had called for protests against dissidents MNAs of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).

In a statement, Imran Khan said that if a member of parliament goes with someone else against money, then protest becomes a duty of the people.

The prime minister told his party workers that people got a little emotional and reached Sindh House. Peaceful protest is everyone’s right in a democracy.

Earlier, Prime Minister Imran Khan has said that the biggest rally of history would be held on March 27 and several people will return due to public pressure.

Addressing the function after laying the foundation stone of Ring Road project here on Saturday, Prime Minister Imran Khan said that Rawalpindi Ring Road would facilitate the citizens. Cities are expanding and farmland is shrinking.
