Staying in touch with friends and colleagues will now be easier through Google Chat as it has introduced voice messages feature.

Until now, Google Workspace’s instant messaging tool had text and image support, but now it will be possible to send voice messages as well.

This feature is initially being introduced for Android and iOS devices while the web version will also be available to users soon.

According to Google, users will be able to send voice messages in direct messages, group chats and spaces.

The company added that sending a voice message saves time compared to typing text while it is also convenient for the users.

Google said that this feature was the most requested by the users.

This feature will be enabled by default but users can also disable it while it will be possible to reply to voice messages like a text message.

Using this feature is also very easy.

Record a voice message by clicking the microphone icon in a chat window and then send it. Users can also preview the message before sending it to make a final decision to send.
