Taxes in budget will bring further inflation: Liaqat Baloch

LAHORE: Jamaat-e-Islami Secretary General Liaqat Baloch, has said that the numerous taxes proposed in the federal and the provincial budgets for the new financial year would result in a wave of price hike and add to the worries of the common man. He was addressing an Iftar party in Wahdat Colony. 

The JI central leader said that the budgets were however silent about the measures to dispense with loans and to end corruption. The spheres of higher education and research had also been neglected.  He said that the budgets framed on the IMF dictation could not bring relief to the masses.

Speaking on foreign affairs, the JI Secretary General said that the objectives of the creation of Pakistan had not been achieved mainly because of the irresponsible attitude of the rulers and the national solidarity had also suffered heavily.

He said that the US and India were preparing a war front for the people of China, Afghanistan and Pakistan as the building up of arms and ammunition in India under US patronage had disturbed the balance of power in the region.

He counseled the government to devise a national strategy in consultation with the political leadership and the parliament to face the challenges.

Liaqat Baloch said that the absence of a Foreign Minister and a full- fledged Defense Minister in the present changing situation, helping the enemies to achieve its objectives.
