T20 WCup 2016: Pakistan keep tradition unchanged of losing against India

KOLKATA: Indian team have successfully bouncebacked by clinching six-wicket victory with 14 balls remaining against Pakistan at Kolkata’s Eden Gardens in the crucial fight after facing defeat against New Zealand.

Pakistani batsmen failed to set a handsome target to the Indian team to provide margin for bowling attack. In-form Virat Kohli shattered Pakistani bowlers by scoring not out 55 off 37 balls. Yuvraj Singh was second top scorer with precious 24 runs to release pressure surrounded Indian team after two consecutive blows by Mohammad Sami.

Mohammad Sami grabbed two wickets while Mohammad Amir and Wahab Riaz took one wicket each.

Green Shirts set reasonable target of 119 runs against arch rival India on very uneven pitch besides wet weather conditions during the most crucial fight of the T20 World Cup 2016 at Kolkata’s stadium.

Shoaib Malik, Ahmed Shehzad and Umar Akmal became top scorers by adding 26, 25 and 22 runs to the scorecard respectively.

Skipper Shahid Afridi failed to exhibit well performance despite coming to the crease after fall of first wicket of opener Sharjeel Khan. Afridi scored only 8 off 14 balls despite replacing Mohammad Hafeez from his position on the batting order.

Ashish Nehra, Jasprit Bumrah, Ravindra Jadeja, Suresh Raina and Hardik Pandya have collectively got five wickets by sharing one each in the match.

India won the toss and opted to field first against Pakistan in the most crucial fight between the arch rival being played at Eden Garden, Kolkata.
