ISLAMABAD: The apex court directed the district administration to provide an alternative venue for the PTI meeting and prepare a traffic plan and present it in the court by 2.30 pm.

A three-member bench headed by Justice Ijaz-ul-Ahsan is hearing the petition filed in the Supreme Court against the arrest of PTI workers by the Islamabad High Court Bar.

Following the adjournment of the hearing, the IG appeared before the Islamabad Supreme Court.

Justice Mazahir Ali Akbar Naqvi remarked that Home Secretary and IG Islamabad should reconsider their policy. Mr. IG, you were appointed four days ago. Stay in, understand your responsibilities and fulfill.

Justice Ejaz-ul-Haq remarked that if PTI is in danger of arrest then tell us the name, we will give security order, Supreme Court has to protect everyone, no matter where it is, Pakistan is there.

Justice Ijaz-ul-Ahsan asked the Chief Commissioner Islamabad to offer an alternative venue to PTI and inform the court after the negotiations.

Justice Ejaz-ul-Haq said that Chief Commissioner Islamabad should make a plan as to where the meeting would be held and what would be the traffic plan.

Earlier, Justice Ijaz-ul-Ahsan remarked that emergency was imposed in all hospitals in Islamabad, schools and transport were closed and the country was on the verge of bankruptcy.

Justice Ijaz-ul-Ahsan further said that according to media reports, all examinations have been postponed, roads and businesses have been closed, to which the Attorney General said that he did not know the details, give time to get information.

Justice Mazahir Naqvi asked, “Attorney General, do you not see the situation in the country?” Half of the Supreme Court staff could not reach due to road closures.

Attorney General Ashtar Osaf said that you may be referring to media reports regarding the closure of schools, not every media report is accurate.
