State policy should comply with people aspirations: CJP

ISLAMABAD: Supreme Court Chief Justice Justice Anwar Zaheer Jamali has said that state’s policy should comply with people’s aspiration.

While addressing to Senate meeting on Tuesday, he said that cheaper and immediate justice is the need of hour. He continued that we were facing hurdles to implement the constitution.

The CJP declared that masses of Pakistan are the guarantors of the state and all citizens of the state are equal according to the constitution.

Jamali said that sovereign powers belong to God. He said that relation between state and society described in the constitution. He said that Law and Justice commission has submitted their recommendations for cheaper and immediate justice. Concept of state lie in the political reconciliation, he added.

Senate Chairman Mian Raza Rabbani welcomed him in the senate and said that relations between institutions change the history of nations. It is the first ever address of any CJP in the senate.
