SHC issues guidelines to Accountability Courts for speedy disposal of cases

KARACHI: Issuing new guidelines to Accountability Courts a two-member bench of Sindh High Court asked the courts to follow ways other than traditional.

The new guide says that long lists of suspects delay cases and asks to include names of suspects against whom there are irrevocable proofs and the execution should only depend on hard-to-contradict documentary evidence.

The under arrest suspects are punished for the flaws in the system, the cases of arrested should be separated from those on the run and the period from framing of charges and judgment should be lessened, the report adds.

Saying that during hearing of the cases suspects rot in jail and the report asks the government to increase the number of Accountability courts so that they do not rot in the jail.
