SC announce one member judicial commission for Quetta carnage

QUETTA: Supreme Court of Pakistan has announced judicial commission on Quetta carnage and summoned detailed report in one month time from the commission.

The hearing regarding Quetta carnage of August 8 was held at the SC registry in Quetta, by three member bench headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJ) Justice  Anwar Zaheer Jamal. Other members of the bench included Justice Ameer Hani Muslim and Justice Faisal Arab.

Home minister Sarfaraz Bugti, Chief secretary Baluchistan Saif Ullah Chattha, IG police and other high officials were also present on occasion of hearing.

IG police, health ministry, home ministry have submitted reports in the hearing stating that investigation team for the Quetta carnage has been changed while private guards licenses for the civil hospital have  been cancelled. It was also stated in the report that non cadre secretary health has been changed in health ministry.

Representing dead lawyers and following the case as their consul Hamid Khan expressed dissatisfaction over the government report. The CJ remarked that “You (Hamid Khan) has submitted response and asked him what should be the next step.” Responding the CJ, Hamid Khan said that undisputed  SC commission be formed that give report in one month time.

The SC announced to form one member bench judicial commission in chair of Justice Qazi Faiz Eissa after arguments of Hamid Khan and ordered the commission to submit its report in one month.

Later, the court adjourned the hearing till submission of judicial commission report.
