Saudi schools to teach English language from Class 1

RIYADH: Saudi Arabia will begin teaching English language to the students from Class 1 at the schools.

Saudi education minister said that the primary students would be taught English language from Class 1 from the next academic session.

In an interview with Al-Ekhbariya TV, Hamad bin Mohammed Al-Asheikh said that the ministry had approved five courses, focusing on mathematics and science, to be taught during the next session.

He said that English language has been introduced at the primry classes to help the students compete on international level.
