British Prince William and Catherine (Kate) Elizabeth Middleton have arrived in Pakistan late Monday evening on a five-day visit.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge touched down at the Pakistan Air Force’s (PAF) Nur Khan Airbase in Rawalpindi, near Islamabad, where Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi, British High Commissioner to Pakistan Thomas Drew, officials from the Foreign Office, and top government officials cordially received the state guests.

Upon arrival, guard of honour was presented to the royal couple. The trip is the first of its kind undertaken by any member of the British royal family to Pakistan in 13 years.

The royal couple will meet President Dr Arif Alvi and Prime Minister Imran Khan in Islamabad on Tuesday.
