Prolonged operation against Chotu gang yet to make success

RAJANPUR: The law enforcement agencies have failed to make any gain to take back the control of Rajanpur’s riverine area after fortnight time of they launched an operation against Chotu gang around border areas.

The prolonged intense battle has taken life of a policeman while other four are injured. An upward of 1,000 policemen along other LEAs from four districts have yet to reclaim the area occupied by gangs comprising 50 or so members.

A woman and a 12-year-old minor have been injured in the exchange of fire until today. Cattle diary animals are also vulnerable to fire in the ongoing operation. The act has forced the affected families to leave Kacha.

The police force from Rahim Yar Khan, Layyah, Rajanpur and personnel of the Punjab Constabulary and Elite Force with the help of Pakistan Air Force and Rangers launched the operation against the gangsters who had occupied Khachi Jamal on Oct 3.
