QUETTA: Inspector General of Frontier Corps (FC) Balochistan, Maj General Sher Afgun Wednesday said they needed support of people and local elders to root out terrorism from the province on permanent basis.

Some elements were carrying out terrorist activities to implement the agenda of foreign forces, he said speaking to FC personnel in Sui.

The FC IG was in Sui town of Dera Bugti district to celebrate the second day of Eid-ul-Azha with FC personnel and local tribal elders.

He said the FC personnel embraced martyrdom and suffered injuries in the line of duty to restore peace and to defeat terrorists in Balochistan.

He, however, said the security forces needed support and cooperation of local people and elders to defeat terrorists and anti-peace elements permanently.

“We need more support of local people and elders to make our actions successful which are being launched to root out terrorism and militancy, and restore peace  in Balochistan, he added.

Maj Gen Sher Afghan said some elements, who were indulged in anti-peace activists, were working to implement hidden agenda of foreign forces aimed at causing instability to damage efforts being taken to bring progress  and prosperity in Balochistan through mega development projects.
