Makkah: For the first time in Masjid al-Haram, a play area has been created to keep children busy, where children can sleep, so that parents can worship without tension. Children will be supervised by trained staff.

In Masjid al-Haram, parents will now be able to pray with ease by handing over their young children to the trained child care staff and the children will be able to engage in play and entertainment in a safe place.

According to Saudi media, a play area for children under the age of 6 has been built in the third extension of the Grand Mosque, where 80 children can be cared for. In addition to the children’s swings and toys, this area also has a sleeping area.

This play area will work under a regular department. The center will be open 24 hours where trained staff will be present at all times for effective child care along with play and entertainment.

The facility is absolutely free for the first 3 hours, but thereafter parents have to pay hourly fees.
