Violation of Constitution is treason, Speaker be prepared for punishment: PML-N

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) information secretary Marriyum Aurangzeb used the word “handpicked” after she was barred from using “selected” for Prime Minister Imran Khan in National Assembly on Monday.

On Sunday, NA Deputy Speaker Qasim Suri had directed MNAs to refrain from using the word “selected” for the prime minister.

When the PML-N leader referred to the premier as “selected” during her budget speech in the lower house today, Suri objected, asking her to avoid using the word.

“The members of the assembly have been elected through votes and the house will not tolerate any insult to them,” he added.

Responding to the deputy speaker’s objection, Aurangzeb used the word “handpicked” for PM Imran.
