LAHORE: The local bodies election in Punjab has been postponed in the wake of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
According to the sources, the final decision on holding the local bodies election will be taken in October after reviewing a six-week report on the coronavirus cases.
The sources added that two by-elections – NA-75 and PP-51- in Punjab would also be postponed due to the pandemic.
It may be noted that the Election Commission of Pakistan had written a letter to the Punjab government for issuing a schedule for the by-elections and seeking an opinion on the situation of coronavirus pandemic.
