Khamenei sees Iran’s foreign enemies behind protests over gasoline price hike

TEHRAN: The Iranian Supreme Leader on Sunday blamed the country’s foreign enemies for sparking protests over gasoline price hike in the country.

Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said that the those staging protests are hooligans and not our people, Iran’s state TV reported.

Without naming any specific country, he continued that the country’s foreign enemies had always encouraged and fanned sabotage in Iran.

On Saturday, one person was killed in  Iran’s Sirjan city in a clash between police and protesters.
