ISLAMABAD: Justice Anwar Zaheer Jamali has taken oath as new Chief Justice of Pakistan in Islamabad today (Thursday).
President Mamnoon Hussain administered oath to Justice Anwar Zaheer Jamali at a ceremony that was also attended by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Raheel Sharif among others.
He is the successor of Chief Justice Justice Jawwad S. Khawaja who served in the exalted position for just 24 days.
Justice Jamali has become the 24 Chief Justice of Pakistan while he will retire on December 31 in 2016.
