ISLAMABAD: The Judicial commission , probing investigations into the alleged rigging in the general elections 2013 , has rejected the petition of Muthidda Qaumi Movement (MQM) seeking re-summoning of the witnesses of Jamaat-e-Islami.

The counsel of Muthidda Qaumi Movement submitted the application before the three-member bench of the judicial commission headed by chief Justice Nasirul Mulk stating that the witnesses of Jamat-e-Islami should be summoned again for cross-examination.

Upon this, while addressing the MQM, chief Justice said, “you were not interested in the commission otherwise your counsel would have been present here during cross examination of witnesses.”

Chief Justice Nasirul Mulk further said that the commission had already said that once a witness appears before the commission he will not be summoned again, saying that  any witness can be summoned again in case of any extraordinary situation. Later on, the commission rejected the application of MQM.
