JI in contact with Islamic movements around the world on Gaza situation: Siraj

LAHORE: The Jamaat-e-Islami has been in touch with Islamic movements around the world for several days to save the oppressed Palestinians from Israeli terrorism, says Siraj-ul-Haq.

The JI chief said, in this connection, an online meeting was arranged in which 222 representatives from 23 organisations participated. Hamas senior leader Ismail Haniyeh and Khaled Mashal briefed the participants of the online session on the latest situation in Gaza.

He said: “Let the Islamic world play a decisive role in rescuing the unarmed and oppressed Palestinians from Israeli terrorism and put aside its religious differences at this crucial juncture in history, the Jamaat-e-Islami chief said.

He said that the Jamaat-e-Islami is holding rallies in all cities to show solidarity with the Palestinians. The first rally will be held in Islamabad on May 21, Karachi on May 23 and Peshawar on May 30, with millions of people in attendance.
