Iran says Khamenei’s promise to punish aggressor fulfilled

Iran has hailed the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps’s retaliatory airstrikes on the Israeli-occupied territories and said the hybrid operation taught Israel an unforgettable lesson.

President Ebrahim Raeisi, in a statement on Sunday, said that the drone and missile strikes materialized the sincere promise of Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei to punish the aggressor.

Meanwhile, the Iranian army has claimed its drone and missile attack on Israel has achieved all its objectives.

Iranian armed forces’ chief of staff Mohammad Baqeri told state media that the Operation Honest Promise was has been completed successfully from last night to this morning and achieved all its objectives.

Iran has said it had launched airstrikes on Israel in self-defence after the April 1 strike on its diplomatic mission in Damascus.

Major General Mohammad Baqeri said Iran has concluded its retaliatory strikes on the occupied territories and warned of a stronger reaction if the Israeli military responds.

He said that the operation is over from our point of view. However, he warned that the Iranian armed forces are ready and will act if deems necessary.

The Iranian armed forces’ chief of staff’s remarks came hours after the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps launched extensive missile and drone strikes against the occupied territories.

About the airstrikes, Baqeri said it was merely a punishment and warned that the Iran’s response to any further Israeli military action will be much greater.

Baqeri said that the reason for the Operation Honest Promise was the crossing of [Iran’s] red line by the Zionist regime.c
