LAHORE: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan has said that whoever is appointed as the army chief by Nawaz Sharif would become controversial from the day one.
In an interview with a local TV, Imran said that individual would become man of Nawaz Sharif.
The PTI chief said that he does not doubt credibility of whoever would be appointed the army chief. He added that he is rather suspicious of intentions of those who would appoint the army chief.
Imran said that if Nawaz Sharif thinks he can appoint his army chief and get us beaten by the establishment then the entire nation would stand against it.
Yesterday, PTI Chairman Imran Khan reiterated that no matter who comes into power, the economy can’t be improved as long as there is political instability in the country.
Addressing a seminar, Imran said that investors don’t invest amid political instability. Imran underlined that political stability is only possible with transparent elections.
“Trust of investors could only be restored through election,” Imran further said.
The PTI chief spoke about the country’s state of economy saying it would have been difficult if it wasn’t for the help Pakistan received from friendly nations.
“If we hadn’t received help from Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, and China, we wouldn’t have had resources for payments,” he said.
