KARACHI: Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Karachi chief Engr. Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman has termed the results of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) local governments’ election as beginning of a new era in the political history of Pakistan.

In a statement on Tuesday, he welcomed the results and said that JI has emerged as second largest popular party of the province. He was of the view that this success was a implication that people of the KPk have recognized the services of the JI.

He hoped that the success would become first drop in the otherwise suffocated political atmosphere of the country. He said that it was attributed to the sacrifices and continued struggle of the JI that now started to bring fruits.

Like the people of KPk, people of Sindh and Punjab would also express their trust in the leadership of the Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan,  he added.

The JI leader said that the party scored four seats of district Nazims and 26 seats of sub district Nazims and Naib Nazims.

He further said that the JI possess a history of service to people. Earlier in Karachi, the services, rendered by Abdul Sattar Afghani (Late) and Nematullah Khan Advocate are still remembered.

He said that the JI would continue its legacy to serve masses.
