ARIFWALA: The Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) arrested four terrorists of a banned outfit besides recovering explosives and hand grenades here on Wednesday.
The CTD sources said that operation was conducted in tehsil Arifwala of Pakpattan district over intelligence tip-off regarding presence of extremists.
During the crackdown four terrorist stated to be hailing from a defunct organization and identified as Ramzan, Bahadur, Yaqoob and Younas were apprehended with explosive material and hand grenades.
The nabbed terrorists were planning to conduct terrorist attacks in Bahawalpur but in time action foiled the bid, the CTD sources said. The detainees were shifted to an undisclosed location for investigation. Sources said that important revelations were expected as a result of interrogation.—APP
