The US has threatened to change its policy towards Israel if it does not change how it is carrying out its war in Gaza.

This was stated by White House spokesman John Kirby while speaking to reporters.

The spokesperson’s remarks came a few hours after US President Joe Biden gave his strongest public rebuke towards Israel since Oct 7, the day when the war started with Hamas.

The president warned that the US policy on Gaza will be determined by whether Israel takes steps to address the safety of Palestinian civilians and aid workers.

Meanwhile, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken has called on Israel to protect the lives of civilians in the besieged enclave.

Blinken addressing a press conference in Brussels said that right now, there is top priority in Gaza is protecting civilians, surging humanitarian assistance, and ensuring the security of those who provide it. Israel must meet this moment, he added.
