Delimitation issues: top candidates cannot cast votes in NA-246

KARACHI: Surprisingly, top candidates would unable to cast their votes following delimitation issues during by-election in NA-246 constituency of Pakistan.

Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) revealed that votes of the candidates belonging to Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM), Jamaat-e-Islami and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) were not registered in the same constituency.

According to report, MQM’s Kanwar Naveed Jamil’s vote was registered in NA-219 constituency of Haiderabad in PS-250, JI’s Rashid Naseem was registered in NA-245 constituency of Nazimabad while PTI’s Imran Ismail named in PS-52 of NA-251 constituency of Defence.

It should be mentioned that the upcoming series of election including NA-246 by-election and Local Bodies’ election were being conducted under old delimitations.
