LAHORE: The Water and Power Development Authority (Wapda) has decided to build a new dam to store flood water.
Chairing a meeting here, Wapda Chairman Muzammil Hussain said that Rohtas dam would be constructed to effectively control floods and store floodwater.
He said that the reservoir would be built seven kilometers away from the Dina city in Jhelum district.
On the occasion, the Wapda chief directed to issue a tender for the construction of the dam.
He said that the reservoir would have a capacity to store 3 million acre feet of water and would also generate 100 megawatts cheap electricity.
