Babar Azam becomes No 1 ODI batsman in the world

DUBAI: Pakistan cricket team captain in all formats Babar Azam has become the top-ranked one-day international batsman in the world leaving behind Indian batsman Virat Kohli.

According to the ICC ODI rankings, Babar Azam topped the one-day international batsman rankings with 865 points.

The star Pakistan batsman has toppled India’s Virat Kohli, who has 857 points, to become the No 1 ODI batsman.

Indian skipper Virat Kohli had been on top of the ICC rankings since 2017.

Babar Azam has jumped to the top position after scoring 228 runs in the recent ODI series against South Africa.

The Pakistan captain is ranked No 3 in the ICC T201 batsman rankings while sixth in the five-day format.

Opener Fakhar Zaman sits in the 7th spot in the ODI batsman rankings.
