Army major killed, six injured in South Waziristan IED blast

RAWALPINDI: An army major was killed and six soldiers sustained injuries after a roadside bomb exploded during a search operation in South Waziristan Agency on Tuesday.

According to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Maj Imran embraced shahadat in an IED blast during a cordon and search operation in Rustam Bazaar Wana, South Wazirastan agency while 6 soldiers were injured.

A search operation is underway in the area after the blast, however, no arrest has yet been made, ISPR said. —ISPR
