NANKANA SAHIB: Protesters hurled stones at policemen and injured four security personnel who took part in an operation against land grabbers on Saturday.
The operation was initiated by the Evacuee Board Trust against illegal occupation of land.
An angry mob set ablaze an office of the Auqaf department. Protesters pelted stones at Chairman Evacuee Board Trust Siddiq Al-Farooq’s car.
Speaking to the media, Siddiq Al-Farooq said that the operation was conducted against land grabbers. He added that parliamentarian Zulqernain Dogar lead the land grabbing mafia. “We will break their backs,” he said. He said the operation against encroachments would continue.
