All Pakistanis in Belgium safe, sound: Envoy

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Ambassador to Belgium Naghmana Hashmi Tuesday said that all Pakistanis in Brussels were safe and sound.

Talking to a private news channel, she said there was no report about death or injury to any Pakistani in today’s terror attacks. However, the embassy was in touch with the `Belgium Crisis Management Cell’ in order to cope with any emergency situation.

Initial reports had been sent to the Foreign Office and a help center had been established at the embassy, she added.

Ambassador Naghmana she said high level security had been provided  to the Pakistan Embassy by the Belgian government.

She said Pakistanis here were an important part of the society and peaceful citizens. They were serving the country in different fields of life, she added.

“We are in touch with relevant agencies, Pakistani officials and media representatives. Updated information will be shared,” she said.

The ambassador also advised Pakistanis in Belgium not to travel unnecessarily and must follow the directives of the Belgian authorities.

She said that helpline numbers were uploaded on social media and the embassy’s website on which people could cotact to know about their loved ones in Belgium.
