Alkhidmat holds ‘Family Fun Gala’ for orphans in Karachi

KARACHI: Alkhidmat Karachi has held its annual “Family Fun Gala” for some 1,000 orphans and their associates under its Orphan Care Program to bring in some smiles and positive vibes in the lives of the fatherless children.

Japanese envoy Makosata, Halqa Ehbab e Saudia’s Razi Wali Muhammad, Executive Director Alkhidmat Karachi Rashid Qureshi, Director Orphan Care Program Farooq Kamlani and others addressed the event.

A large number of Alkhidmat volunteers, donors and several prominent figures from the philanthropist community attended the day long event.

On the occasion, quiz competition, games, swimming and other games were offered to the participants of the event.

Video messages of alumni from the orphan care program were also shown at the event. Prizes and presents were distributed among the successful contestants.

Speaking on the occasion, Razi Wali acknowledged the role of Alkhidmat in the social service sector. Quoting the examples of Shaikh Abdul Qadir Jeelani and heroes of the Pakistan Movement, he stressed the need of character building.

He urged the mothers of orphan children to come forward and play the most significant role in personality building of the children.

The Japanese envoy also acknowledge the services of Alkhidmat in Pakistan and praised the NGO for serving the masses without any discrimination of cast, creed and color.

Rashid Qureshi in his speech said that the orphans attending the event were chief guests of the day. He paid a rich tribute to the volunteers and high ups of Alkhidmat for holding such a wonderful program.

Kamlani in his speech said that 16500 orphan children are being taken care of by Alkhidmat across the city. He added that Alkhidmat also runs 18 boarding facilities for orphans in the country.

Kamlani further said that Alkhidmat also runs an orphanage in Turkey.

On the occasion, he thanked donors and philanthropists for supporting Alkhidmat.
