Afghan Taliban, Pakistan reaffirm resolve to resume peace talks

ISLAMABAD: An Afghan Taliban delegation led by Mullah Abdul Ghani Barada called on Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi here on Thursday.

During the meeting, the members of the Afghan delegation and the foreign minister reaffirmed resolved to immediately resume the peace talks that were suspended by US President Donald Trump last month.

The delegation, which was received by the foreign minister at the Foreign Ministry, appreciated Islamabad’s efforts in the reconciliatory process.

Both the sides were agreed to press for the resumption of dialogue.

Qureshi said that war was not a solution and stressed for resumption of talks.
