MULTAN: Minister of the State for Water and Power Abid Sher Ali has expressed grave concerns over rift in Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N) over awarding of tickets in local bodies (LB) polls.

Talking to media persons here on Tuesday, Abid Sher Ali pointed out that in at least 85 Union Councils of Multan candidates belonging to PML-N were contesting against each other in the LB polls which was contrary to the party interests.

However, he was hopeful that candidates nominated by party’s leadership would be successful in the LB elections and those using the party name for personal gains would face defeat.

The State Minister said that he supports the decisions of PML-N’s central leadership and will comply with the directives of party’s chief.

Abid Sher Ali urged the party office bearers and activities to sink the differences and join hands to strengthen the party which will ultimately help in resolving the issues faced at district and regional levels.

He said that everybody has right to lead and Bilawal Bhutto should also lead Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) as per party agenda and aspirations of the party leaders and workers.
