Oil tankers stop fuel supply in Islamabad, Rawalpindi

The Oil Tankers Owners Association has stopped fuel supply in Rawalpindi and Islamabad.

According to the association, the delivery of petroleum products will also remain suspended in Gilgit-Baltistan, Azad Kashmir, while the supply to airports has also been stopped.

The association said that PSO officials have introduced new automation system of petrol filling and we have conveyed our concern regarding this system to the PSO officials and DC Islamabad. The oil tanker owners have demanded petrol filling through metered system.

In this regard, All Pakistan Oil Tankers Owners Association Chairman Mir Shams Shahwani said that they stand with the country and the nation in this critical situation as the supply to all the depots would continue.

Mir Shahwani demanded a strict action and registration of case against the blackmailers.

On the other hand, according to a spokesperson for PSO, the supply of petroleum products is continuing across the country including Gilgit-Baltistan and Islamabad.

Earlier, the government has hiked the price of petrol for next fortnight by Rs4.53 per litre in line with increase in the international  oil market.

A notification issued by the Finance Division said the price of high-speed diesel has also been hiked by Rs8.14 per litre to Rs290.38 per litre.

The new prices of petroleum products will be effective from April 16.
