Inspector General (IG) Police Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Muazzam Jah Ansari says that the head and some organs of the suicide bomber in the mosque of Peshawar Police Lines have been found.

In a special conversation with Geo News, IG Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Moazzam Jah Ansari said that the explosion in the police lines was a suicide attack, the head and some organs of the suicide bomber have been found, the sampling of which has been sent to the forensic lab for DNA testing.

Muazzam Jah Ansari says that they are determining the reasons for the explosion from CCTV, operations should be based on intelligence, there is no need to evacuate the entire population for a major operation.

The IGKP further said that terrorists do not have control over any area as it was 10-12 years ago, if a terrorist escapes from here and takes refuge in Afghanistan, he should be handed over to us as per the agreement.

Earlier, suicide explosion occurred inside a mosque located in Police Lines in Peshawar’s Saddar area. As a result, 100 worshippers martyred and over 221 injured.

The injured were shifted to Lady Reading Hospital, where condition of several injured is critical. Sources said that 25 to 30 cops were injured the blast.

According to the rescue sources, the sound of the explosion was so intense that it was heard far away.

Police said that the blast was suicidal.

Sources said that the suicide bomber standing in first row blew himself as the congregational prayers started.

Prayer leader of the mosque was also martyred in the blast.

Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah speaking to media said that police were fighting with terrorists.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, PTI Chairman Imran Khan, PPP Co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari and others strongly condemned the suicide blast.
