Punjab CM to take vote of confidence: Imran Khan

Former Prime Minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan has said that there should be no ambiguity, Punjab Chief Minister Pervez Elahi will take the vote of confidence.

A meeting of the senior leadership of PTI Punjab was held under the chairmanship of Imran Khan, in which it was decided to finalize all matters for the vote of confidence of the Chief Minister of Punjab.

Regional organizations have been given the responsibility to communicate with the members of the assembly. It was decided in the meeting that the vote of confidence will be taken as soon as the homework of the assembly members is completed.

In the meeting, concerns were expressed over attempts at horse-trading and contacts with women members by PDM and said that all attempts at horse-trading will be thwarted. In this regard, Imran Khan said that the Chief Minister will take the vote of confidence, I wish there was no ambiguity.

According to the sources, the members who were tried to be bought will be kept in a safe place.

Earlier, PTI Chairman Imran Khan has claimed that PTI and Pakistan Muslim League-Q (PML-Q) are in talks to contest the coming general elections on the same symbol.

In an interview with a local TV, Imran Khan said he had also recommended that PML-Q merge with the PTI.

The PTI chief while calling the coalition politics tough said that partners use the leverage to extract benefits from the government.

“That’s why we are trying to fight the election on one symbol.”

Imran claimed his party’s lawmakers were being pressurised to not vote for Chief Minister Parvez Elahi during the vote of confidence in the assembly.

He claimed that Mr X and Y have sent messages to our MPAs that Imran Khan has no future and they should switch sides or abstain from voting.

He added that he was still determined to dissolve Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa assemblies after the vote of confidence.
