KARACHI: Addressing a function at Governor House here on Wednesday, Prime Minister Imran Khan said that Sindh is the region that wants a change the most in Pakistan.

After a meeting with the MQM Pakistan leadership, the prime minister said that he wanted to send a message to the people of Sindh that the time of independence was near for them.

Criticizing the PPP leadership, Imran said that the time for independence had come and the people of Sindh wanted independence from ‘dacoit’ Zardari.

The prime minister termed the no-confidence motion against his government as the political death of the opposition.

He once again criticized the Urdu of PPP chairman and said that for the God’s sake Asif Zardari teach Urdu to Bilawal. 15 years have passed and he still does not know whether it rains. I have seen Englishmen learning Urdu in two years, he added.

Earlier today, Prime Minister Imran Khan had arrived here on a one-day visit.

Sindh Governor Imran Ismail and federal ministers also accompanying the prime minister who arrived by helicopter that landed at the National Stadium.

Later, the prime minister went straight to Bahadurabad, the temporary headquarters of MQM Pakistan, where he was received by the MQM leadership.

Sources said that strict security arrangements were being made before the arrival of Prime Minister Imran Khan at the MQM Pakistan headquarters in Bahadurabad and the security staff has also searched several members of the assembly.

Sources said that Prime Minister Imran Khan will attend an Ehsaas program event at the National Stadium. Besides, PTI members of Sindh Assembly and party leaders will call on the prime minister at the Governor House.

Yesterday, for the first time, the PML-Q had signaled to review its support to the PTI government.

PML-Q MNAs Moonis Elahi and Tariq Bashir Cheema had a second meeting with three ministers.

The PML-Q leaders made it clear that if 15 to 20 members of PTI joined the opposition by crossing the floor, then it would be difficult for them to support the government in future. We will be forced to join the opposition, they added.
