Pakistan’s position among nuclear-weapon states improved

Pakistan’s position in the ranking of countries securing nuclear weapons has improved significantly as the US agency Nuclear Threat Initiative has raised it’s ranking by 7 points for the most effective measures.

According to the NTI Index, Pakistan has taken most of the steps related to security and control and has significantly improved itself in the security and control category as compared to other countries.

Pakistan has gained plus 25 points, while in the global norms category, it’s plus one has also increased.

Islamabad’s efforts to protect its nuclear assets have left New Delhi far behind, with Pakistan gaining 47 points against India’s 41.

Compared to all the 22 nuclear countries, Pakistan ranks 19th and India 20th in terms of asset protection while in terms of installation facility protection Islamabad ranks 33rd and India ranks 38th out of 47.
