KE proves Asad Umar ‘s claim on loadsehdding false as power outages continue in Karachi

Karachi: Despite PM Imran Khan’s directives and Planning Minister Asad Umar’s announcenent of ending loadshedding in Karachi, the city faced unannounced power outages on Sunday.

According to reports, several parts of Karachi including Mehmoodabad, Azam Basti, Manzoor Colony, Akhtar Colony experienced unnanounced loadshedding today morning.

Yesterday, speaking to the media outside the K-Electric headoffice where the PTI lawmakers and workers were protesting agains the KE, Asad Umar had announced that there will be no loadshedding in Karachi from tomorrow (Sunday).

He added that the additional power supply to the city would reach 1,350MW aftet two years. The supply will increase every year, he added.

He said that the Sui Southern Gas Company had increased gas supply to 290 million cubic feet to the KE.

Umar said that the Nepra would issue its report on loadshedding in Karachi in three to four days.
