Coronavirus update: As of Tuesday confirmed cases rise to 110,065 in Pakistan

Pakistan lifts all Covid restrictions

KARACHI: As of Tuesday (17:00) the total number of confirmed cases of coronavirus has reached 110, 065 while 21,89 died in the country.

After emergence of new cases, Sindh overtook Punjab with 41, 303 confirmed infections.

Over 33,000 patients have recovered so far in the country while 21,89 have lost their lives.

Given below is the province-wide breakup of confirmed cases across country:

• Sindh: 41,303

• Punjab: 40,819

• Khyber Pakhtunkhwa: 14,006

• Balochistan: 6,788

• Islamabad Capital Territory: 5,785

• Gilgit-Baltistan: 952

• AJK: 412

Globally, over 400,000 people have so far died from the coronavirus pandemic.

Recently, a top Italian doctor claimed that the coronavirus had lost its strength and become less dangerous now.

San Raffaele Hospital head Alberto Zangrillo, in an interview, said that clinically the coronavirus no longer in our country.

The tests carried out in last 10 days have showed a viral load in terms of quantitative, he said.

Another senior doctor, Matteo Bassetti, head of the infectious diseases clinic at the San Martino hospital in the northern part of Italy, has also endorsed the views of Alberto Zangrillo.

He said that the coronavirus lost its potency it had couple of months ago.

Vassetti said that i was clear that the coronavirus is different today from what is was two months back.
