DUBAI: Local aviation authorities have been working on a plan wherein tourists can register online and get a certificate subject to an in-house validation of their skills in Dubai, which will allow them to fly their drones around landmarks in Dubai.
The new regulation had been announced on the sidelines of the Unmanned Aerial System Forum.
The two-day event had begun in Dubai on Monday.
Tourists had dropped a dozen of drones on the premises of a famous landmark hotel in Dubai in the past one-and-a-half-year, a Dubai Civil Aviation Authority official says.
The radio frequency goes out of reach when you are flying drone around such a big hotel, Michael Rudolph adds.
A number of regulations have also been introduced to allow the residents to operates drones in Dubai, he says.
He further says all the drone operators, including amateurs or commercial, will have to register their drones and the pilot with the DCAA.
He said that all drone pilots will have to get a drone licence that will allow them to fly an unmanned aerial vehicle.
