World-XI tour a big leap for Pakistan to restore int’l cricket: Sethi

Chairman Pakistan Cricket Board Najam Sethi has thanked International Cricket Council and international cricket players for their cooperation in holding Independence Cup 2017 in Lahore on Monday.

Talking to a Media in Lahore , he said that World XI’s tour is a big leap for Pakistan to restore international cricket in the country, Radio Pakistan reported.

Najam Sethi hoped that successful holding of Independence Cup will open the doors for the tour of Sri Lankan and West Indies teams to Pakistan.

Speaking on this occasion, Director ICC Giles Clarke said that Pakistani government and people have played an important role in bringing back international cricket to the country.

He said that efforts of security agencies of Pakistan for improving law & order situation in the country are laudable.

Earlier, a 13-member ICC World XI squad led by South Africa’s Faf du Plessis, has arrived in Lahore early this morning.

All arrangements have been completed for the three-match Independence Cup T- 20 series starting tomorrow in Lahore.
