World T20: New Zealand beats Australia by eight runs

DHARAMSALA: New Zealand set on Friday beaten Australia by eight runs in the World T20 match at Dharamsala, India.

New Zealand won the toss and elected to bat. It set 143 runs target on eight wickets for Australia but Australia could made 134 runs on nine wickets in the given overs.

New Zealand opener Martin Guptill was the top scorer with 39 runs,  while all-rounder Grant Elliott and captain Kane Williamson also chip in with 27 and 24 runs respectively to take Black Caps to 142/8.

For Australia, Glenn Maxwell and James Faulkner bagged two wickets each.

Australian opener UT Khawaja was the top scorer with 38 runs. New Zealand’ McClenaghan clinch three wickets. Santner and Anderson took two wickets each in the match.
