LONDON: Formula 1 fans have finally got something to cheer about, as Williams released computer-generated images of new era car for 2017.

The company used the platform of YouTube to release the images of the FW40.

The new generation car is up to six seconds a lap quicker than its predecessor.

The first 2017 car to be formally unveiled will be Renault’s when the RS17 will be launched on Tuesday in London. Sauber will follow Williams in releasing images of their car online on Monday.

The Williams FW40 itself will be launched in earnest on Saturday February 25.

Williams are aiming to re-start their momentum from the first two seasons of F1’s hybrid engine era after slipping from third to fifth in last year’s Constructors’ Championship.
