Voting on no-trust motion to be held on April 3 or 4: Sheikh Rasheed

ISLAMABAD: Interior Minister Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed has said that the no-confidence motion would be voted on April 3 or 4.

Addressing a press conference here on Saturday, Sheikh Rasheed said that the accused MNA Jam Abdul Karim, nominated in the Nazim Jokhio case, is being brought from Dubai for a vote of no confidence.

He said that according to law he should have taken bail from the court. We will arrest him from the airport, DG FIA has been asked to arrest Jam Abdul Karim. IG of Sindh Police has also been directed.

The interior minister said that everyone is allowed to hold a meeting in Islamabad but everyone should open their ears and hear that no one will be allowed to take the law into their own hands.

In response to a question, Sheikh Rasheed said that he had advised Imran Khan that we should present a pro-poor budget and move towards early elections.

He said that the opposition is foolish, they have brought Imran Khan to the height of popularity.

Referring to the social media campaign against the national security agencies, Sheikh Rasheed said that he had asked the DG FIA to arrest all those who were talking nonsense against the great forces of Pakistan.

Asked about the position sit-in, the minister said that if a sit-in was staged, they would act on the direction of the court. The Interior Ministry has the power to summon the Army under Article 245 with the approval of the Prime Minister and the Cabinet.

The interior minister said that Srinagar Highway has been handed over to Rangers and FC and JUI-F has been directed to hold a meeting only today. If they want to hold the rally tomorrow, then they have to submit a new request, he added.
